Look for an email from your local HR rep with this link.

When emails from the top executives and HR preparing us for change, know this is code for “layoffs”. Heads will begin rolling in 6-9 months. Brush up your resume and don’t get into expensive or long term financial commitments. It’s going to be a bumpy road ahead.

This is no surprise. Did you read the email? Evergreen! That means it will be more continuous, like at XOM. Started in Downstream so I am used to this, and each time it's resulted in an opportunity for me. I think I would have appreciated MN to mention the formation of his team on the townhall and not just wait to send the message the day after to avoid questions about it. If most of us had our pulse on the business, we'd know that a bunch of reorganizations are already happening or on the cusp of beginning.

It is happening in October. If you are smart you are praising several leaders for their leading performance.

Sorry, guys. OP is correct, when you get corporate emails where "change" is every other word, it only means one thing: reduced staff, and the cutting process has already begun behind closed doors. Then comes after a period of uncertainty, distraction from work, rumors, behind-the-scenes backstabbing, etc. Anyone who's been here more than 10 years has seen this play out several times. They'll wait first to see who and how many people quit now that the bonus has been paid (and/or disappointed with their raise), then meet with BU heads to tell them how many people they're losing, then the BU heads meet with HR and Legal and Madame DeFarge (look that one up) to pinpoint the lost souls. There will probably be a package, but since there aren't many 55+ left around, it won't be very lucrative. I would predict that the grim reaper will arrive August-September, just like in 2020.

Yep the next layoff has arrived. Everyone knew MW couldn't keep long from having more layoffs being the layoff king. It's obvious what's coming.
