Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Radio silence

Why no word at all? No one fired but no word about the plan or timing. Shouldn’t Chuck send an email? Or our managers?

If you have not been told that's it's over then for you it continues till tomorrow in US. The US managers = directors should have informed employees who were directly affected (either themselves or their managers being affected). If not, you are still on the hot chair.

And no Chuck will not send an eial because he does not know or even care about you/me. Sorry

"Nobody likes layoffs and they’re always a last resort. ..."

Searching "define last resort" on Google returns "a final course of action, used only when all else has failed."

That means they try every possible action without success, sometimes every single quarter, before each layoff. I'm thinking the people who can't think or more things to try to make the business stable should be the first to be replaced.

Your manager should have let you know it’s over for your group. Some managers aren’t as good as they should be.

Can’t wait for the Beat where Fran smiles disingenuously as she says something like:

“Nobody likes layoffs and they’re always a last resort. Let’s make sure we treat all of the impacted employees with respect. We’re all part of the Cisco family!”

Then just move on like nothing happened. And then ignore any difficult Q&A.

They said they would discuss it at Cisco Beat. It's on Tuesday, I think. The earnings call was the initial official announcement, but ELT was busy today with lounging in their hot tubs and relaxing from the stress of layoffs. [Giving them, of course.]
