All this is, is a theft of wealth from the people of Alberta and people of Canada. The stock price isn’t moving anywhere after these layoffs.

When you really think about how hard it is to do Rich Kruger’s job. Ya he’s bold and has to show his face to Albertan’s and the entire Suncor organization after just coming on board and terrorizing everyone. But there is absolutely nothing remarkable or special about him besides being sharp at his speech and what he wants to say. He’s just an actor at the top and really nothing more. Beyond that there’s nothing at all revolutionary that he is doing for Suncor besides cutting people and cutting expenses and projects. Suncor’s not going to come out as a shiny bright exciting company to invest in after he’s done. Cutting them to pay for his bonus and those at the top. These are the people he’s doing this for.

We lost Encana, now we are seeing how Suncor is getting demolished. Selling assets in Canada, increasing his own pay and bonuses for BOD members, that's what Kruger is doing, destroying our company. Soft liberal government is preoccupied on non essential aspects, they keep spending money and growing our debt. Layoffs is a result of how poorly CEO and BOD do their job.

It’s crazy. This whole layoff thing is almost entirely caused by US organizations. Suncor actually had no reason to implement these lay-offs at all, they are still highly profitable. No protections in place to prevent this. Elliot Activist investors who got on as board of directors are American and are primarily responsible for this, and so is the CEO they hired. Government should step in somewhere, Canada is being too soft, we’re getting stepped on.

Canada is probably one of the most easiest countries for Americans , South Africans, Australians, Brits to get jobs. And not ordinarily jobs, executive high paying jobs. Does it work the other way around? Not especially. Food for thought. We bring those folks to manage our companies and what they do is destroy.Don’t we have our own brains to do it?
