After decades at CVX, the best predictor of my pay increases I found was whether the company had had a good year and if the oil price was high. Not performance. The company has to feel flush to throw you a bone. You can work your ar** off and that won't matter in a bad year for the company financially. Having said that, CVX made its third (?) best profit in history in 2023, but couldn't find any cash to throw our way.....things must be bad (or going to get bad).

  1. 3%. Less than last year's, but I'll take it. This puts me at 105% of PSG

I’m pretty sure Chevron doesn’t realize what I’m worth. And as long as they don’t know, I’m not telling them!

Keep any big ideas you might have in your back pocket until 2025. Performance ratings and bonuses are likely to be poor this year so don't waste a good idea in a year that it won't get rewarded. The name of the game for 2024 is like the NCAA basketball tournament, survive and advance.

Is merit the same as structure? My statement only had a merit increase.

@1pdh Did you not see where I said I didn't believe them for a second? I'm spending this dreary day polishing up the CV and will be looking for other opportunities as soon as the paltry bonus check hits the bank account.

I felt was overpaid already. Now it is just embarrassing. But I'm not complaining!

@1pdh, yes, I've been hearing that same lie for several years now. The creative part is then explaining to me why I didn't get that promotion. It usually involves some 'function comparable' who I don't know and is in some other office or group so it's impossible to know if that person deserved my promotion.

The "you are up for promotion " is the standard chevron supervision lie, in the hope that you will accept the poor pay adjustment you have received. Believe me as someone who has been around for a long time..you are not up for promotion, not within chevron. Sorry to break the bad news

Not happy, but was told I was up for promotion.

Yeah, I'm not believing that for a second.

With 2 exceeds and 2 valuable contributor what’s the average percent merit increase?

by

Less than 4% even tho I’m less than 95% of CO. I feel like some of my raise goes to the people who are 110% of CO every year.

It’s not 2% when they round down. :(

Structure was 2%, got 4% total, which is the worst I've ever gotten. And yet MW can still get 8% and options.

Can anyone share the structure raise? Got different answers, 3.5? Or 2? Or 4.5?
