I agree 'redundant' is not an ideal word. Why not just call it a PIP? The British know that word pretty well. "Pip pip old chap".

Interesting that the English call this "redundancy" - seems so cold. Literal translation is being no longer useful, omitted - almost like second hand trash. I recommend they follow the US and call it something more jolly and cheerful like "participate in a resource action" or "right sizing" or "stranded cost" (awww I don't want to feel all alone). At least when people are getting canned add a little pozazz to the name right?! Redundant just sounds so negative. I mean, technically everyone at IBM is redundant as we all work on the same project and don't even know it. Even w3 is redundant - millions of pages all pointing to the same out of date material.
