Notified Day abt Being Laid Off is Legally Actual Last Day at Cisco?

Has anybody been invited to 1-on-1 and notified being laid off by your manager or director, yet?

My question is the below:

A:
1-on-1 about being laid off = Last Work Day that you need to work but Legally and Officially Last Day are to be set to the end of Feb or the end of March?

B:
1-on-1 about being laid off = Legally and Officially Last Day? Hence, no handover to anybody about tasks you may currently be working on.

Which one of the above is true? Or perhaps, neither? Then, when is the actual legally and officially last day at Cisco?

I also wonder what happens to those unused PTO days...

In the past the process was as follows (in the US).
There are two dates, a notification date and a termination date.
The notification date is the date your manager informs you that your role has been impacted. Your termination date is typically 30 days later, during this time system and building access is removed but you remain on payroll.
From your notification date to your termination date you have no further duties to do for the company, essentially your full time job is to be looking for another opportunity internally (if available) or externally.

Typically anything an employee has accrued, like PTO, is paid out on the termination date. PTO would continue to accrue from your notification date to your termination date. Any scheduled PTO that an employee had already put in the system would be cancelled and those hours would go back into their accrual bank.

You don't have to work, though you are expected to be reasonably available to handover any duties. Golden rule is think of yourself first. For most it will be in your interest to maintain good relationships with people that may be future colleagues, customers or employers. IT is a small world.

You get any unused and earned PTO back. Since the PTO year starts on Jan 1st you likely won't have accumulated much PTO yet. If you get 24days per year then you will have about 2months worth so 4 days plus any carry over minus already used. If that goes negative they will likely deduct it from your final paycheck

You can cancel any PTO that you had already booked but that will take place during the consultation period.

In the past it has worked like this: the day you are notified in the US is the last day you have to work. Your system access is removed to everything except what you might use to look for a job internally. (Email, Webex, CEC) The other two dates you mentioned are “exit dates” - the option to go early or go later have been available in the past. You can choose whichever date works better for you.

This may work differently in other countries.
