Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Well fellas

Mechanical seems to be the craft Veena wants to be part of the past. So I've gotten my resume updated. Applied at several rr outfits. No one is hiring. We only have enough experience to work at Rapid Oil Change franchises. Sam's Club as a stocker. I guess I'll have to wait and see if our shop gets cut.

Everyone should sue for stress.. You’d probably win.. People have won lawsuits for less

Boy this su-ks having to look for another job. I planned on retiring here. Im a carman. So i dont think this craft will be much longer. I have 4 more years to go to receive my full RRB retirement. The daily stress. Putting on my coveralls wondering if our yard is getting closed down. The yard is slow, no repairs. Its depressing. But im hanging in there. The stress is overwelming at times. This place ruined my body. Picking up knuckles, dropping the pins. Up and down changing shoes. Sacraficed years of missed holidays, birthdays to be treated like a slave. I signed up for it. I love being a old frogger but hate what its become.

Either this is a post by a manager-troll trying to be a passive aggressive jerk, or if true, you need to work on how you present yourself. Fork lift operators get paid $20-30 an hour. If you’re able to properly change an automobile’s engine oil dealerships are constantly trying to get their lube rack guys to sign up for factory training to become technicians. Too many of the lube rack guys wont do it bcuz their wives / girlfriends live in HUD or section 8 housing, claiming they are single mothers. These lube jockeys are lazy live there “off the books” and w/ welfare benefits and their oil changer pay they live a very comfortable middle class lifestyle. A good automotive tech can be paid railroad money, but the health ins and retirement isnt as good.
