It's official, manchester has lost the mixer business

That's it guys, you've messed up long enough. You're all out the door.
VPs over this week, announcement today . . . Many at risk, but its just the mixers that will be let go.

Somebody touched a nerve with the Derby boys. Failed and you know it. All your money was gone and you couldn't move forward.
I'm shutting it down end of..........
Just need to hurry it up so we can start making money for my pump guys and get my ICP up for another car.

Reading through the replies to this post, the comments about the Rat and Pfaudler, made me chuckle. Truth is who wouldn’t jump ship with a next level promotion into a stable company that specialises in PROFITABLE MIXING MANUFACTURING, best of luck to him, would love to see pfaudler buy the Chemineer brand, at least it would survive unlike under NOVs steerage

Haha, who’s the plonker…….I’m guessing recent history isn’t a strength for you, Derby was closed not due to inability to be profitable but for two reasons 1, Derby was a rented facility so as a cost saving during the oil downturn as many other sites also were axed at that time, 2, to prop up Montrose as they had no work due to the point above, Montrose never worked out and neither has Manchester. Get in the real world sunshine although it’s probably above your pay grade to have any degree of intellect……just saying

It never failed in Derby, the failure was the poor decisions by senior managers that had/have no clue on the mixing product! But hey, keep believing the cr-p that you are fed by people who have no clue. The inevitable outcome of all of this is Manchester will become unviable and you’ll all be out of a job.

In Derby it failed you plonker. Had to be bought out.
Montrose it failed ........
Manchester about to fail ...........
Pfaudler will no doubt show its had with the old sinking rat runnaway and will fail just like him.

Pumps are the future..

Best thing for Chemineer is to be sold off to some other business that actually has an interest in mixing as it’s been clear from day that NOV don’t understand it

Well done NOV. How to destroy a profitable well respected business, I’m an ex Derby employee, and looking at this shambolic performance I’m delighted that I left of my own accord, this sums upto senior figures in the US not having the slightest understanding of a business they own. Yes it’s bespoke yes it’s relatively complicated, yet in Derby it never failed to be profitable….lost the skills, lost the experience…….lost the business, congrats NOV another self inflicted embarrassment.

Out with all. Once Shiney has got rid of mixers he wont be able to hide how bad he is at the pump stuff.
The Houston toffees are also useless. hat Podmore lacky whom was once in the MONO game just waffles whenever i see him down this end. Still he is milking it like others.

Nice to see people back in the office nearly full time. Shame for them......

I'd say its not working because of the long termers, the 10, 20, 30 plus years employees. They just don't realise how bad and behind the Manchester site is to everywhere else. They don't know better and think what it is now is as good as it gets, worst is they think they know better???

This place could be something, but it needs complete revolution not evolution - it will not happen whilst the long termers are there.

So why isn’t it working with SiG?. is it the big gaffers not engaging? Is it the department managers not willing to change? Is it the supervisors stuck in their ways? Or is it the shopfloor lads who are supposed to make this happen?

SiG are the foremost business transformation service in the UK?
SiG won a contract with the NHS?

SiG are the foremost business transformation service in the UK. They're responsible for securing over £7 billion new contracts and sales in complex manufacturing businesses with complex commercial agreements.
Yet people in Manchester don't think they're any good??? Or dont know what they offer??? I think that says it all really. The most simplist of products in the simplist of industry's, yet will not jump in head first and support a service that is proven and successful in tranforming businesses, to help themselves . . . Strange people!
A site that has stagnated for over a decade, that looks more like a relic or museum with 'out of date' everything (machines/ processes/ people/ approach), yet they don't want to help SiG help them. . . Strange, very strange.

How can sharing in growth share the growth if the company is shrinking? What is it they are doing exactly?

Great question!
I am a customer and can’t get a so called Senior Manager to call me back, I did spend thousands with Mono but now it’s slowly moving to another supplier!
Still, so long as the bonus payments keep coming, who cares?

Sharing in growth isn’t working but it isn’t the fault of sig. our senior managers signed off on the cheque and then did nothing. They have failed to get involved and lead positive change. So sig are wondering around aimlessly and we’re busy fools because that’s just the company we are.

The sharing for growth people soon sussed out that it’s a waste of time and the whole workforce is so negative to any kind of change. Said it before, close the place and fast !

Just seen the bigwigs from sharing for growth walking through the factory, apparently they're here to pull the plug as we're not helping them to help ourselves, apparently the people in the business don't want to succeed.

Commercial are looking after your shop floor types, if we answer the phone it leads to business which of course, you cannot handle and mess up so everyone’s happy, oh, except the customers of course!

Commercial haven’t been answering their phones which is why customers aren’t happy and aren’t placing mixer orders. They are changing their status to BUSY in a mini protest cos they have to come into work. Pathetic.

Did shiny actual know he was supposed to be in charge of mixers as well as pumos in ops? It's been less than acceptable for months, probably years and he did nothing, never seemed to get involved in mixers. Why don't the VPs realise he is out of his depth? He does nothing, actually does nothing, certa8nly nothing to do with operations anyway.

Operations are really failing and they don't even realise its them, half the team want it to be like it was 20 years ago, the rest are just coasting waiting for something to change. They have no idea.

Even heard that sharing for growth are thinking of cancelling the contract with us as we're making them look bad, apparently we're not ready to change the business and have no real desire to change.

Did the big gaffers go on the shopfloor last week? If you’re gonna do an 8000 mile round trip to deliver bad news they could at least walk an extra 50 yards and share their wisdom and somehow make a contribution.

Too many special stuff being quoted that we couldn't execute. Derby king still there trying that but he leaves soon. April he will be gone after retirement and closing down his baby.

Shiney didn't help. Doesn't have a clue about management unless its painting floors/putting up presentations or messing with air conditioning units.

Actually had the never to say in a meeting that this redundancy process will help the pump business as we can concentrate on our core strengths.

Please kick him out. he only got the job as he sniffed around Bilko when he had issues. Only id--t for the job.
Rest of the management team are loafers. Dont do anything. Waffle Waffle Waffle. See what happens in April when all the mixer staff depart.

I wouldn’t mind someone with a brain looking at the mixer figures and working out the facts. Did we cost them correctly? Why could we not make them within budget? What was plan B after the first 2 years of no profit? What was plan C? Was there ever a plan A?
