They forced us to RTO. No way I am working long hours now. In fact I work only 5 hours now since I commute the other time. Used to work 10 hours when I had work from home

Nope. Still 24 hours in a day.
But the allocation has changed.
There is no more free labor because I like what I do for pay.
Now I do what I like to do, for my mental health and fun.
No more than 8 hours in a day are exchanged for my x% lower salary.
No more than 5 days a week.
I recommend you do the same.

Prior: 10 hrs/day
Post: 4 hrs/day
The biggest reason for the decrease is commute time cuts into work hours.

Office collaboration (people coming by to ask how was weekend, what I did for superbowl, my kids, my cat, politics, bi+ch about Broadcom, talk sm--k about HT, etc) cr-p.

Lunch break. At home, I used to grab something from my fridge, microwave it, sit and eat at my desk while I'm in meetings. Now I go off campus with office mates for lunch off.

I’m working a lot more. That’s mostly because I didn’t do cr-p the 3-4 months leading into the acquisition. My manager quite literally told me to take as much down time as I could.

Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh - after that I sorta space out for an hour....Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

I still WFH I'm usually putting in 10 to 12 hours a day. I'm sure Hock believes I'm just playing on the PS5 I don't have.. :-P

I'm trying to figure out if I'm an outlier or if people are working longer hours in general.
