Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Anyone want to bet on the bonus and PSU final scores?

Let’s have some fun before we are all disappointed. Jon is no people person and he cares more for the bottom line than he does employees.

I say a 70% bonus target and a 1.0 PSU.

The only good thing is the VPs are 100% corporate score so it hits them hard. And that’s why they won’t drop the PSU below 0 to make it up to them. The executive shouldn’t even get meets expectations as they are the ones who got the score card all wrong, bought a bunch of useless refineries, and can’t hit our debt target 4 years running.

While other companies are paying out 40-60%, you are satisfied with 20%???

I think you are referring to the Management Info Circular. It gets published in late April.

Make sure you read the AIF document this year.. The higher LTI grant to Executives this year will make up for the lower bonus.

They assume no one will read it and comment.

Anyone else wonder how they’re going to get creative to make sure the executives all get their bonuses over 100%?

Lol I would rather have RSUs over stock options. In my years when we did have stock options they were only ever in the green and exercisable once and PSUs weren’t much better. And I call bs on the CNRL folks cashing out. Someone is lying to you.

CNRL employees get stock options. They have made a lot of money these last two years.

Our peers are paying high bonuses this year. This is as good as it gets at CVE. Only down from here.

CNRL people work like “horses”, they go to the office every f..n day. They are not all paid that well. They mandated Covid vaccinations for everyone including new hires.Their food at camps is cr-ppy. Yet they never complain. Are they robots? What is the secret with that company? Lol I don’t eat too work there

We have become Husky. That’s the sad reality. I was at Husky and came to Cenovus and had high hopes of bigger and better things. Sadly that hasn’t happened. There is a reason Husky was a dumpster fire and was bought for far less than it should have been worth. Cenovus is heading to the same result. We will all be working for CNRL soon

Remember when we scored a 92 the year that oil hit two bucks a barrel?

Should be fun to see the company reaction when the bonus payout happens and people look for greener pastures.

Brutal 0.73 and a 0.58 ratio. Do they hate employees by setting unrealistic target?

Our executive should get bonuses tied directly to the downward spiral of our stock price. Good thing we have 150 people making six-figure salaries to convert to the new version of SAP, yet our asset teams are running leaner than an MMA fighter the morning of weigh-in! Last time I checked, IT and HR don’t actually generate ANY revenue or cash flow!

Raises aren’t happening this year from what I heard. Your supervisor can’t even tell you where your pay band starts and ends. So much for transparency.
