I’m seeking suggestions for well-established midwestern companies with HQs that are not and have never been located on either coast. These companies typically have values more aligned with those I’m seeking to work for.

Atlassian, great distributed workforce, and remote work. Lots of tech jobs, not sure where they are HQ'd, but I hear great things about them from outside of the company and those doing distributed work right, based on real data and also analytics about how their particular employees work best and what they want and what the DATA shows!

Yah I prefer not to work for a company who does not keeps employees on performance plans versus high performers who went above and behind for years. Some west coast elitists don’t seek to have the moral compass to see why that is wrong!

You misunderstand that the core value of any company is to make money. How they go about making it may vary but, in the absence of generating revenue, cutting costs is the binary choice. What costs can be cut easiest are the ones that get cut first.
Companies are not people, no matter what SCOTUS tells you.
