Has anyone reviewed the form letter with a lawyer yet or talked about a class action suit for the outright age discrimination in this round of layoffs?

There is nothing wrong with being a ge---r or a woman or a member of the LGBTQ+++ community. Everybody deserves the same opportunity to get away with a redundancy package without discrimination on age, gender, etc. If you are not in the clique you are wasting time at this Company and should rather hope to get away with an "apology package" at the end of your tenure.
Sorry but plenty of women in cuts. It very much seems like cuts are more on the ground so those who are in the fold can have promotions

Revolving Door Syndrome Buddy – BH get the Grad’s on the cheap because they think they are wet behind the ears & stupid, but nothing could be further from the truth.
They are also playing the short game, but doing it smarter.
Most I have know make it clear that they have no intention of staying with BH for the long haul, & look on them as a short term proving ground to top up their CVs before moving on to better paid employment with a competent employer.
It's a shame, because most of them turn out to be real Grafters that any respectable company would want to retain.
Personally I have nothing but respect for them.
Baker Hughes is a great training ground for young folks. Learn there and then go elsewhere to work somewhere enjoyable. I used to know 100s at Baker. Now I know 100s who used to work there and are happier elsewhere.
Please do sue. Last week in Houston was almost all older employees that were sacrificed in this latest BS reorg. Those of us left at BH want to see Maria kicked out for sure. She’s a fkn joke and only in the role from being on her knees and back.
I think they have thrown and hit at a certain salary range, there is no vision at all. The industry is just amazed by the vision of LS and MB. Many people all around the world were let go. It is better to jump off from a sinking ship. This year they will sell the carrott we were restructing thats why could not hit the target. Next year, big paycheck for LS and MB. No point of class action . It is sad to see the state of BH , but this is the choice of so called leadership. Guess only results will tell, my advice will be to sell the shares within this year because impact of all knowledge will translate in coming quarters as BH will loose more and more MS due to incompetence and less focus on delivering the service.
I can only assume you are reasonably new to the company, because those of us who have been here a while have noticed a steady trickle of experienced Staff job losses over the years, as well as those who jumped ship voluntarily, having smelt the coffee.
I’m surprised they can let anybody go at this stage, given the number of people across the globe who are jumping the BH Ship as we write.
Gone are the days when your experience counted for something, now it seems that the more experienced you are, the less BH think of you, & the more likely you are to get the boot so that somebody in the Brass can say they have saved a few Bucks.
All of this is unsustainable of course, but what do we would know – just keep doffing those Caps Boys & Girls.
The thing is that Diversity and Inclusion done this way is a glorified and morally justified form of discrimination. It's purpose should have been to remove biases and eliminate s-xual discrimination. In reality though it translates in having to hit a kpi of X% females in the organization no matter what which is of course an "instituzionalized" (since it becomes embedded in the processes) form of discrimination in itself.
I wouldn’t say it was purely age discrimination. I believe there is also s-xual discrimination. Female under-performers retained employment to keep for what I would assume was maintaining a DEI score over people who were performing better in multiple instances I’ve been informed… and I have heard that from many sources.
That’s why they threw in a few younger folk as well.
Outside of just a few legacy BH, leadership is largely GE “spread your sheets” brown nosers “running their race.”
You say "The bean counters and id--t leadership all came from GE"? Are you 100% sure that all this is not just part of our beautiful transformation journey?
Latest layoffs were heavy on technical personnel, despite comments in town halls that technology would not be hit. This clearly came from high up as there have been no plans in place to distribute workload of laid off staff. Everything is very reactionary and no direction has been given as to who will pick up the slack. Good luck to everyone who remains. Morale was already so low that even the people who weren’t laid off are looking to get out ASAP. Many are waiting to hear if there will be a buyout or spinoff of the OFS business.
It’s not just the older ones. Trust me.
The bean counters and id--t leadership all came from GE
Old farts are expensive, that's why. It's just the bean counters at work. We went from the slogan "imagination at work" with GE to "bean counters at work" with BH.
