Absolutely 100% agree with you. The 2/3 ratio mentioned is just a basic proportion analogy. The good quality jobs are simply just not keeping up nearly as quick as the people coming. Now we have a “blame the newfies and lay them off” and “blame the people flying in from BC and lay them off” lol… there was a time when there were so many golden jobs there weren’t enough people to fill them all…people came from the maritimes and BC… then the baby boomers retired and yet there was still opportunities created from that. Then we got the “Alberta is calling”… well I guess Alberta called. Now we are in the worst of times, an absolutely flooded labor market, 20-30 applications per professional position. The federal government’s liberal mass immigration experiment is a total fail for Canadians. I just can’t believe how bad it got.
It's not '2 hammers and 3 people'. It's way more people. Canada brings close to 400-500K immigrants every year. Job creation is way behind. House affordability in big cities like Toronto and Vancouver is not even a question to discuss. More houses are affordable still here in Alberta, so everyone comes here. Foreign students find 'loopholes', go apply to Universities in provinces far from from urban areas, but then they move to Alberta after graduation. They buy houses, it makes them less and less affordable. I blame government for being slow and not responsive. Govt now spending 190M to create shelters and affordable rent for immigrants. All from taxpayers money!
And do we need anymore immigrants? Sorry to say I’m not at all against immigration but at the scale and rate that it’s been at… haven’t we gone way over the tipping point to the point where we are totally flooded with people in proportion to the so called great high paying Albertan jobs? Hello… we have 2 hammers and 3 people trying to use those 2 hammers. It’s not rocket science only 2 hammers get to be used. It’s gotten way way way out of hand.
Fire the BC ones who fly-in / fly-out too.
