Thread regarding 3M layoffs

"Earned the right"

"Earned the right" phrase is the best ridiculous theme so far this year. Its insensitive, callous and unsympathetic. 3M polluted the planet's water supply and provided safety product that led to hearing loss of hundreds of thousands of military personnel. Making some payments to those harmed does not earn the right to anything. Ridiculous theme. Empty and hollow. 3M is an embarrassment 😳. 3M is an ethical disaster.
All the things 3M has been doing and with full knowledge that it was wrong will result in bankruptcy reorganization. So much more litigation coming. HR and leadership will continue spew empty phrases. Anyone hear a more ridiculous theme from your business than "we earned the right"?

It is a tough choice between " earned the right" and " trust the process".

Let's have a vote !

I guess I “earned the right” to be bullied, harassed and gas lighted by my 3M manager. 😢

I “earned the right” to be RIFed after almost 40 years of service. The company is shell of its former self. I’m grateful that i was there for some of the good years.

Way to go Mike, $26 million. I now understand what "Earned the right" meant. Brilliant.

Companies always use some b.s. cliche phrase in my opinion. Admittedly though, that one in particular is pretty cringe, however, reading the initial post I get the feeling the original poster is someone who got burned during the restructuring. I'm not trying to diss them, or be mean, although im sure that's how they're going to take it, it's just the way it comes off reading "They're going to pay, and they're going to file bankruptcy" it's the same old broken record we hear on here time and time again. I remember someone on here claiming they were a former director and just knew 3M was going to fo-e sure file bankruptcy in 3-5 years. Well, let's see it happen. A lot can happen in 3-5 years.

"Earn the right" to return to production was used often in the Quality space. Complete arrogance. I just laughed when I heard this from these pompous jg 13 managers...
