Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

nah nah nah nah hey hey hey goodbye

Just put my 2 weeks in! Boss said they will let me know if they want me to stay. I have some access soooo let's hope they say just pack up today. So satisfying. Yes I'm out before bonus, but my new job matched my last year bonus as a little sign on.

Good luck!

@1nxz+1qxAFkYc dont be annoyed your departure is delayed and maybe you'll be bumped off the next one.

First of all congratulations OP on finding a new job in the current job market. You are probably very talented with exceptional qualifications and the other company is very lucky to have you.

Now back to the main topic. If Schwab does offer you a counter offer under highly unlikely circumstances, DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT accept it. This isn’t so much a Schwab issue as it is an issue common to all companies. The moment you make it public that you pursued other opportunities is the moment that you got marked. You will be targeted for layoff at worst and your career will stagnate at best.

This isn’t an airport, you don’t have to announce your departure.

Good for you! I stupidly assumed that since I was a great performer and worked well with everyone that I wouldn’t be impacted. Had I known that that doesn’t matter I’m not sure what does matter. However, I certainly would never have worked so hard!!!!

Congrats OP! Wish I took job search more seriously in July so I could’ve done something similar instead of waiting passively for layoff.
