Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

RTO is a complete corporate scam

It's been two weeks and if I wasn't sure about Schwab being a toxic workplace before I'm pretty damn convinced now. Nobody likes working here, nobody trusts senior leaders and the silo culture is back in full force. It's become so difficult to get work done here that it's almost unrecognizable. And RTO is just an excuse to put shackles on employees. Nobody I know has team members in the same locations unless you're in a call center

How did this place become so disorganized, disconnected and toxic?

In less than two weeks I've heard countless conversations about people looking to move on from Schwab. This place is insane

@1syr+1qw91Grf For people needing to commute 35+ miles 3-4x/ week, Westlake is NOT DALLAS. The office is in the middle of nowhere for people living in Dallas.

There are still some that like RTO; people who like to brag about having an office because it strokes their ego. Look around Omaha office, you know who she is.

To the people saying "there's no remote jobs anymore" that is not true. I have had 3 interviews in the last 2 weeks for remote positions or voluntary in-office locations. I've applied to at least 30 others in the last week that I know are remote.

And thats only for software Developer jobs alone. All my family and family in-laws work remote but not in software.

Let’s count the number of missteps Senior Leadership has completed:

  1. TDA Merger
  2. Using 20:year treasuries in a rising interest rate environment
  3. RTO attempts and RTO
  4. Promoting Robot Rick
  5. Layoffs

Do we really think clients will trust this company if the employees don’t.

These jackasses in “Senior Leadership” could not even count the number of employees vs the number of desks….but trust them to manage a balance sheet…and trust their business strategy…I would call it a clown show but that would be disrespectful to clowns…

That's hilarious!!! Thanks for the laugh!

Well now that you have to RTO you can legitimately take your sick days on THOSE days, of course! They cannot tell you that you have to work if you are sick....just a thought

I’ve got about 80 sick days, was never one to really use any, but now I will be taking at least 2 or 3 a month without caring! Won’t be paid out for them if laid off anyway. By the way I find it interesting that the Head of Human Resources telecommutes.

Seriously people? They asked you fools to go back 3 times a week and you are whining like little babies. Go find a remote job - oh wait… those dont exist anymore. Gtf over it and be thankful you have a job (which might I remind you, you choose to show to).

It’s been that way for awhile, you get what you signed up for. No company is more corporate than Schwab, and RTO is about making sure the sheep are herded.

Our team got cut in half and now we get to spend 10 hours per week driving to a building of chaos full of sick people who don't work together

None of my team are in my location!!! How is this collaboration???

I hope the EC got the stock options they all wanted because everyone else hates this place

Maybe the $24 million building that was just built in Dallas as well as the new Milwaukee will help with space. Every day I learn about new buildings going up. That must be part of cost savings.

Everyone knows corporate real estate spends like a Kardashian.

What? That’s insane.

I mean who could have anticipated that squeezing lots of people into facilities without sufficient space across multiple cities and states would mean that they’d be sitting at a desk in a cubicle wondering if their seat mate washed their hands?
