Thread regarding HP (Hewlett-Packard) layoffs

HP is in for a world of hurt in 2024 and beyond

True innovation is a thing of the past for HP, Print is dead, Dragonfly is a joke, HP marketing is substandard, and AI will soon render many standard PCs as useless.

Only a fool cannot see the writing on the wall for HP. Layoffs will definitely not only continue but intensify.

Perfectly said, @2xoq+1qkV3Nyq.

Been hearing from a lot of HP lifers lately how the company is doing fine, that its business is thriving, and all that. It’s all nothing but lies from people with their heads in the sand. They’re lemmings who are willing to go over the cliff edge along with the company. Well, not me. I’m getting out asap.

“I’ve never used an HP product and from what I hear, they are not very good. However, I am living in the house that HP’s salary and stocks paid off and it is glorious!”

"But right from the beginning, Bill and I knew we didn't want to be a 'me-too' company merely copying products already on the market. To this day, HP continually strives to develop products that represent true advancement."

  • The HP Way

HP is failing because it became a "me too" company in every possible way, including its culture of greed and "returning the cash flow to shareholders" like Enrique always talks about.

Steve Jobs himself admitted that he was influenced by the quote above from the HP Way, and look at Apple vs. HP now.

There's two different types of people:

  1. People who dislike something and have valid arguments, reasons, and concerns about why they hate something.
  1. People who dislike something for the sake of complaining and don't really have a good reason why they dislike something.... This is what you're doing and that's what many people do on this website.

I dislike HP because they are aware of their issues but are more focused on making money. You're right about HP being "in a world of hurt" but you're saying that for the sake of your unspecified bias. It's like saying, "I won't vote that person because I just don't like them." And then someone asks you why and you respond with, "I just think they're a bad person and have you seen what they did recently?"

I would agree with what you say because they are aware of their issues but choose to follow the money instead of addressing and resolving those issues. Issues, for example, are that HP is slowly devolving into a commodity company... a product company that is no longer a technology company... a company that slaps their logo on Chinese made products. Issues, for example, that their employees are not being challenged to break trends but to follow them.

So next time you hate something, think for yourself. Stop hating for the sake of pleasing yourself.

Nice try OP but based on the various threads posted in this forum it looks like HP is and always has been in a “world of hurt”. You, me, and anyone else who has ever worked for HP are fools.
