Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Job search update?

I was impacted in October. Finding the job market very tight. 100+ applications, 2 interviews… no offers.

Are the rest of you having any better luck?

@3fxh+1qv225WM Read up independently about risk management (rims.org). This company is not a leader in methodology. Good luck!

Any website to make resume AI optimised?

@3fxh+1qv225WM One thing to make sure is that your resume is AI optimized. I’ve talked with a recruiter who flat out told me that most companies use AI to look for keywords in a resume and that pretty much eliminates 70-80 percent of submissions.

Also, don’t bother with the easy apply option on Indeed or LinkedIn. Most of those submissions go directly to the trash heap. If you see a posting on Indeed take the time to actually apply on the company website even though it is very inconvenient/time consuming.

15 interviews, passed 13 hiring manager rounds, reached 6 final rounds, got 2 offers and accepted one mid December last year. Started new job this week and am loving it.

Gettings lots of interviews and it picked up in the past 2 weeks now that people are back from the Holidays. For me around 75 applications, 8 screening interviews, 5 behavioral interviews, and 3 technical interviews so far. Most of the companies have withdrawn due to timing or finding another candidate by the time all my interviews progressed. The job market seems to be getting better though. Looking back it makes me realize how much I was being underutilized at Schwab to maintain an app instead of innovating.

I started looking first week of November, accepted a job offer at another company on 12/8. But I had several rejected applications in the process. Honestly, I'm still shocked I found a job that fast. Sometimes it's just the right timing. But I looked at Indeed every single day for weeks and applied to multiple roles. Of those, I only got 2 interviews and the rest were rejection emails.

You’ll start getting engagement. Too many holiday events this year and folks were back to parties and time off post-Covid.
