Resigning After Bonus?

Just curious, who is leaving after the March bonus and why?

What are your plans for after you resign?

Personally I'm considering it, likely going to just take some time off, and also return to school to finish my degree.

If I land a role that meets my comp requirements, I will resign and walk away from bonus and vesting KC. I am that over it.

I resigned before RTO, 3 months of torture in that office was not worth waiting for the bonus which from the last email I read in November was only being funded at 70 something percent. Good luck to everyone who does resign after bonus, it’s really nice not working for this firm anymore.

I punched my ticket out of here and gave my notice. As much as I would like to get the bonus money, that I feel I more than earned, it is worth it to just leave now. When I found out we were getting acquired I never thought Schwab could be as siloed and inefficient as they are. It was very disappointing to come from TDA and go backwards in time.

I weighed the potential cut of the bonus, rumors of March layoffs, and the thought of trying to keep TDA clients happy when they get a cruddy experience in May just wasn’t worth it. There is an overwhelming sense of dread when the last conversion was pushed and the morale seems to keep going down with everything that has gone down. While I hope it gets better for my teammates and colleagues I am glad I am on the way out.

I would have loved to time my move to get the cash and the exit and wish those of you trying to do that success!

The next ESPP deposit date is near May. Resigning prior to that will refund any built up funds that would have been used for that purchase.

Other comments were around RSUs granted for various reasons like KC awards. Those are given around bonus time and vest annually around that time. They would be forfeited if you are no longer employed prior to the vest date.

The next vesting of our ESPP isn't until May 1st, is that right? Would that be a reason to stay until May 1st, as opposed to last day sometime in April or end of March?

I’m taking my talents to Fidelity. I will never work for another publicly traded company again. Schwab is all about shareholders over employees and that is not how Chuck ran things. They drag his name through the dirt

🖐️

Will take time off or find something if I make it to March. This cesspool is painful and I have to leave. It isn’t going to get better.

I started job hunting Jan 2 with the goal of securing a position by bonus payout day and after RSUs vest. There is historically a small exodus on that day and I intend to be part of it this time around.
