Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Bonus for those laid off

Anyone know any details about this? Every time I’ve called in to HR they haven’t been able to answer when this will be paid out or how much. I’ve seen others comment it will be a flat percent or rate, is this true?

Manager here. They don't know the numbers yet. There is a separate pool that will be used for bonus payment to those impacted. This will probably be figured out in the next month or so, by early February.

They likely don’t have the percentage as books just closed. Our fiscal calendar isn’t year end but for some reason the bonus pool isn’t calculated until the start of the year.

Figure it will be a full bonus funded at 90% of target and paid in early March. Funding for laid off staff and retirees isn’t the same as regular. It doesn’t get reviewed with individual performance criteria, for example.

I asked my boss during the layoff call, he said he didn't know the amount but it was paid from a budget they have for layoff purposes, or something along these lines.

March 8th, eh? I appreciate the info. I hoped I could close that chapter earlier. It really starts to resemble a divorce, drop by drop ;)
