This is a reminder that the day you are let go or quit, they will scrub you from their system in seconds. You will no longer exist. So put yourself and your family _before_ General Motors. Life is short and they aren’t worth it. It’s just a paycheck and to the corporation, you are disposable. Remember this before the manufactured crisis next Tuesday. They are trying to demoralize us into leaving and I suspect that it’s all temporary. How temporary is anyone’s guess.

People getting the MSP were locked out of the system within :30 minutes.
Just gave my experience when I was laid off (not from GM, another OEM). My company email was cut off in about 30 minutes after I was notified by my manager. My company cell phone was disconnected in about 2-3 hours.
So be prepared, backup all your contacts from company cell phone to your PERSONAL computer in case this happens, so you won't lose all your contacts.
Correct, you will become history, along with whatever paltry settlement needed to send you on your way.
Especially brutal if one has a young family. Going without medical insurance or income while you seek new (even contractor or part time) employment is demoralizing.
It is sad that companies cannot easily be held liable for such destruction of families & lives. Where is “big Gretch” when you need her?? Only worried about UAW workers it seems. 👎👎
Be on the lookout for a Federal Warn Act notice. GM is a business, not a family. 50% seating is not a subtle hint! They will drop you like a dead weight at the hint of lower profits. Stop wasting your money and start saving in preparation.
