Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Another useless reorg?

I've been working here for years, and went through so many reorgs that I lost count on how many times I dodged the bullet. I don't stress about it anymore as much. Over years you kinda develop your own coping mechanism and the routine of putting things in order before the layoff wave. But one thing that pi---s me off is that nothing good comes out of reorgs. They are so badly conceived that we lose a lot but the company ends up not becoming the profitable giant they were aiming for.

It puzzles me that the “reinvention” of the company never comes in cooperation with the workforce and with the effective use of existing workforce and resources? It is always based on some C-suits out-of-touch ideas, as they don’t know the actual groundwork, employees and the customers. These days the “reinvention” of the company always goes with mass layoffs, chaotic reorganization, and more often than not the decline in product quality and massive loss of customers.

“ Senior mgt just proved they don't get it”

C suite gets it, they just don’t care (the sooner you embrace that, the easier it becomes to work there)

Every reorganization in the past five years has been with one objective: keep the multi-million dollar paychecks flowing to the C Suite for as long as possible and right up to the minute they send the attorneys into bankruptcy court!!

Layoffs and reorgs are the C level equivalent of shuffling papers to look busy

Another Xerox senior management hatchet job. Zero communication from my manager, zero for their manager or above. Only the Steve B communication. Then crickets. Leaving our entire team to speculate, lose productivity, unnecessarily worry abut what happens next. Same old, same old, poorly thought out beyond 'lets cut 3,000 jobs' - with no regards to the people who derive their livelihoods from this place. Senior mgt just proved they don't get it. Very disappointing.
