Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Can anyone guess how they will implement the student loan reimbursement?

I'd imagine it's probably contingent on some.sort of contract so if they pay it off you need to agree to stay a year. Or it's paid out over a few years.

But does anyone know any more than this?

In November, Pradheepa shared the exciting news that GF will be launching a new student loan repayment program in 2024 and communicated that we would provide additional program details in January.

GF is partnering up with Bright Horizons EdAssist Solutions, leader in workforce education and student loan support in the U.S., to administer this new program. To increase alignment across our benefits programs, Bright Horizons will also take over administration of our tuition reimbursement program. Based on this change, as well as our efforts to ensure these programs are as simple and streamlined as possible, we are now targeting a go-live date of May 1.

We will share full program details, along with FAQs closer to the go-live date for the program.

The website name is The Layoff, not Ask HR. Nice try to insert pro company propaganda here.

I can guarantee you they will do it in the worst possible way, as usual. Just like the IPO stock grants and many other things

Has anyone got student load reimbursement yet or was it a smoke show?

Not sure of the details but I think we can all agree, it will be of minimal benefit to the employee at the end of the day. How about giving decent raises and include everyone in the stock grants? GF is the worst.

Typical GF. Grandiose on ideas, sparse on details
