Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Trimming the fat

Adding to the need for layoffs is the fact that Pioneer hasn’t offshored their jobs. A whole bunch of techs, engineers, etc will lose their jobs to the BTC. Regulatory and PA in particular should be looking for new jobs before they are told to leave. Construction isn’t safe as ExxonMobil Global Projects will take that over. If you are at Pioneer look to see if your job is done in Midland or India and draw your own conclusions.

I found this post on the Exxon board ( @2ugp+1qkV496q ). Might be helpful.

Why would they be hiring from HCOL countries when they’re about to absorb Pioneer?

If you follow Exxon on LinkedIn, you’ll see most “starting new position” posts are engineering and geo in India. Scary….Cant believe SS didn’t negotiate better severance packages, at least like those offered during VSPs….

You can literally outsource every discipline except for those at the well sites and those in C-Suite and it’s extremely easy for an international company. Does that mean every single job will go to low cost centers? Should have closed headquarters in Spring and kept the small Irving office for C-Suite open instead.

Exxon has hundreds of thousands of employees worldwide. That board is not reliable. But of course a lot of functions are outsourced and they won’t need those Pioneer employees.
