Don't worry so much . You will find related work with another OEM or a supplier. Might not make the same but close.

Life's too short to give AF about these jobs and companies that clearly don't care about you.

I suggest you talk to a lawyer, and file a hostile work environment charge through EEOC as a precaution.

You should know the rest.

I always take actions.

The FnF crowd and aspiring FnF crowd ruin non-FnF employees careers for sport.
The character of the promoted and long term non-contributing employees is sorely lacking. The long established pattern of which Ford employees are ejected and which are kept speaks volumes (and not in a good way). A company is known by the employees keeps.

Sadly the output (products) now totally reflect the lack of skills and competency of the FnF crowd. All the people who previously were protecting the company from the FnF foolishness have retired, resigned, been laid off or passed.

@Op The company has not changed its stripes in 40 years so don’t fool yourself that it will change. Ok briefly some of the FnF antics went underground under AM, but as soon as AM left the FnF antics came roaring back. Stress is deadly, seek another employment opportunity.

I don't work for Ford, but I was in a situation a few years ago in which any day could have been my last.

I live in reality, unlike most of my then co-workers (and most Americans overall) who denied reality or just hoped everything would work out. When management made it crystal clear that our jobs were "at risk," I immediately accepted this reality and went into "financial lockdown" mode. I reduced my expenses AND turned the excess into a mix of savings, non-perishable food, and necessary household items.

My approach did not eliminate the constant stress of looming layoffs, but it did help me channel the stress productively. When the axe finally swung my way, as I knew it would, I had a tidy sum in savings and a house full of necessities. This gave me some important breathing room to be able to evaluate my situation and think about my next course of action rather than frantically search for whatever job I could find next.

Perhaps my story will inspire you to channel your stress in whatever way is productive given your situation. Sincere best wishes to you.

I am not stressed out for any layoff, since I learned the lesson years ago: everybody is replaceable, hence there is no safe job anywhere. No matter the company, no matter the position, anyone can be laid off.

Therefore, the only way to remove the layoff stress is to be less dependent of the paycheck. Learn to live below your means, and monitor your expenses continuously (expenses tend to creep up from time to time). The economy is cyclical: save money in good times, survive the bad times, rinse and repeat.

Another point is to keep yourself employable: update your skills, don't stop learning, keep yourself physically and mentally active, maintain a healthy networking, etc.

BTW, next year there will be layoffs on many companies and around the world. The global economy is in bad shape. China, the manufacturing hub of the world, had a lowsy 2023, and it may continue next year. Most developing countries are underwater, and many of the developed ones are treading water. There are predictions of a slowdown in America, some hint at recession.

Sadly, what it would be hurtful for many, is going to be an investment opportunity for a few. I know I can survive the bad tide, maybe even keep a job a little longer myself, but mainly I am hoping I'll be able to take advantage of the "deals" so I can leave the rat race behind.

This is how Ford Motor has always worked they remove 50 and above and promote social butterflies. Nothing you can do.
