"Guess it doesn’t matter who gets the story right, only who gets it out first."
This often happens. The general public accepts the first story they hear.
SAS really should rush to publish some highly sanitized version :-)

Love your poem and your excellent command of the English language. Very clever!
I'm writing about SAS, too -- a series of interpretive dance routines for the SAS Cheerleading Squad to perform.
At SAS we're full of zest!
'Cause Jim Goodnight is the best.
Some of us work
While others twerk
And others take a rest
We're here 35 hours a week!
For old software that we tweak
That no one buys
But ignore those lies
Admiration's what we seek!
Viya is so great!
It's our fastest code to date!
It will solve your streams
of Analytics dreams
And will seal our fate!
Thinking of Py-thon or R?
Our cheerleading team says "rrarrrr!"
Who'd of thunk
That free analytics junk
Would topple Jim, our Czar?
Please do! I've always said that someone with the dirt needs to. We all know there is dirt, and I'm not talking about some folks being hard-core while others coast or Viya not being able to replace V9.
I've written about my time at SAS. Not for publication; it's just therapy to get it all out. I'm saving money by not paying an actual therapist, and by reading this site :-)
Memoirs about your time and experience at SAS? Do you know all the juicy stories? :-)
I care. As long as it isn’t whiny :)
