Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

If you are planning to leave

Keep in mind that understanding what you want to avoid in a career is just as important as figuring out your career preferences. Just a friendly note from an old-timer who spent too much time focusing on pay and career progress and ignoring things like company culture and work environment - which are just as important, if not more. Especially for your health - both physical and mental.

At my location high cost the MD can"t speak proper english and have no leadership experience but out of politics surviving and bringing bad name to Avaya in region.

Leaders must be well aware of the outcome before awarding such positions to corrupt and naive subordinates, as it impact Avaya reputation in industry as a whole.

Self promoters always equate to dysfunction and greed.

Always trust the person who doesn't give a cr-p what you think of them. Clients prosper and the company is trusted. It's about the work. Not the image.

Avaya's past dysfunctional management enables those Salesforce Surfers. There were many. They would study Salesforce then see an opportunity and tag themselves to verticals that didn't have direct representation then take victory laps for the revenue that they never influenced.
Good on you for calling it out. I observed that for years. There was a guy in services who was extreme.

Agreed.
I always laugh watching the comments on here where they call out people who stood for what is right and focused on integrity over the game.
There was that girl who was the only tenured industry person who knew Avaya was just capitalizing on a vertical via Avaya self promoters (sales force surfers who tagged themselves to vertical for self gain), and called it out. Clients loved this person. They got it. Yet you all tore this person apart because they didn't drink the Kool aid. My clients praised this person and I closed more deals from their presence than I did in 3 previous years.

Doing the right thing always pays off despite popular opinion.
