Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

My main takeaway from today's Customer Experience All-Hands

Nielsen is still profitable, and still growing.
Just not profitable enough for the greedy pigs in the C-Suite. 🐷🐷🐷

So many of us are being sacrificed at the altar of greed and the purpose of infinite growth.

Makes me wanna pu-e.

It su-ks. They must be convinced that the rest of the business are all mo--ns.

Sc--wing around with people and making it even more difficult to get a decent bonus. I guess more for them and less for the minions.

Don’t expect any bonus. Don’t expect sh-t. Just do what you can, to survive, until you land another job, and just hope your layoff doesn’t hit before you are secure again.

Do not wait to look. So many jobs are now in other countries, to exploit workers there (who truly are treated like trash in many situations) and AI is taking over making it worse, for customer service, tech, and on and on. So you gotta fight now to look for a job.

and if you do get a job and are still receiving severance just shut up about it and consider your tiny severance your bonus. sc--w it.

Key Point

Here is a Carrot on a Stick: You may or may NOT qualify to get a bonus at the end of the year. Knowing more than 50% wont be here at the end of the year.

Setup for failure: We will now increase the amount of performance metrics you are judged by = Fire you easier without severance or bonus. Now we will have a strict paper trail.

Keep you on edge: We will not address the elephant in the room. We know everyone on this call ONLY cares about job security. Since we need to keep you on edge and a happy little slave, we wont bring it up and keep you in the dark.

This is a psychological tactic scientifically proven to work on employees. Meticulously calculated. These people are where they are because they know what they are doing.

Folks its over, do not kid yourself with the false rally cry and motivation. This was an attempt to buy time. ITS OVER

They hope you're living in a delusional world, where you think there's a place for you, where you'll be given more work but really you're only helping out the people that will be replacing you.
Seeing these poor loyal little guys over all these years having to pay to play, all in the name of greed.
C-Suite has sold their soul.

Sounds like you’re in the same position as other departments. We know nothing yet either, just open ended job insecurity until we get let go. same great unknown as before, really.

Love how we're being asked to take on more work through "volunteering" for projects...all while knowing that a bunch of us are going to get the Thanos snap. "Hey employees we think are id--ts! Please work on these task groups to ensure we can give your job to someone for a fraction of your salary. And please be sure to say thank you to us for the opportunity." Get bent!
