Does anyone have any official news sources on how many people have been laid off? The media seems to not report it.

Seems like 20%. They’re after margins and almost magically you should be able to get that if you shave $0.5-1.0B in expenses. As far as keeping work, “we’ll just figure it out.” A lot of product lines are going to naturally die for lack of support.
Not sure how baker is going to have any good products any more. Layoff the experienced engineers and quality control people. Keep the brown nosing executives partying it up in florece right in the middle of the technical department blood bath.
At first, I heard it was just mid-level management being impacted. Today, I'm seeing individual contributors being shown the door.
Asking the Clients to reach out to Maria? Never going to happen. They were pretty clear at all the townhalls that WE (meaning "you minions") cannot allow these shenanigans to impact on the operations and the again WE have to maintain customer focus. So guess who is going to be sent under the bus if s Client complains?
Why would there be a news article? It is happening and that is all that matters. CWI/CTI got hit hard this week and it's the same as other posts. No distinct method to cuts other than pure dollars. Account managers gone. Engineers gone. Product lines gone. Some left to pick up the pieces while other groups and districts are just now gone. There is definitely something planned for the future of this company, or what remains of it. It's only theories on what that is. Most groups were already running thin prior to this purge.
But it's pretty obvious at this point that this is a mess that is already having consequences with customers asking many questions. Best response to them should just be to give them Maria's contact info. I'm sure she has all of this figured out. /s
Good luck to all.
In California, it was a blood bath last week. There is the WARN law which a company that lays off of a certain size such as what they did last week, they are to post a warning of the upcoming layoff.
Instead, they paid the penalty which is everyone who is laid off in California, an extra two weeks of pay. They had no problem doing that.
Maria is cutting $100 million in spend and up to 20% of her workforce. They walked out a ton of folks in California last week. Mid-range managers.
Smart keeping it under the radar like that! At the end of the day it is just going to be better, smarter, greener, efficientier, brighter, higher, togeverer, etc. etc. so there is nothing really bad to say here. Furthermore Maria and the so called leadership team are going to update us on the 28th of Feb after having taken on board all the info from the surveys and the questions in the forms (which were never answered). With all these feedbacks, I expect the communication now will be better than ever.
Nothing in news articles, LinkedIn, etc.
