Soooo, we have day-to-day layoffs, which can last for months to come. They cut our severance by half, which makes me even more motivated to stay and train my replacement only to be let go with the full acknowledgement of my worth. Long-term employees with experience and in-depth knowledge are being let go left and right. This is a horrible place.

You can’t hide from this, you’ll simply be deactivated. Last year there was a coworker laid off in another country, she was on vacation. Still gone.
Also if this is your first layoff ever? Welcome to the new reality. You’ll have many more.

i remember last year someone commenting and warning that severance would be reduced, it’s the Elliott Mgmt playbook. They’re going after Etsy now.
This company has gone downhill fast. I've been here for 10 years, and I always though the culture was one of the best things about Nielsen. Now I can't wait to leave.
They are getting rid of so much long time knowledge and expertise I just don't see how they expect to keep clients happy after all this. The company is going to implode.

Yes, it gets worse.
Wait until you're on that inevitable call with your HR Rep and Manager. You will be treated like a criminal (borderline Animal) condescending attitude and fake concern. So go in with a pokerface and all business. Make it short and sweet.
This is Nielsen with Culture, come as you are and LAWS they need to abide by. Imagine the cut throat treatment overseas.
