i‘ve been thru other layoff cycles elsewhere and at nielsen and this past year has been the worst one. ever. strung along. gaslit. if nielsen’s goal was to torture their employees then they succeeded. i agree with the comment below about stressful reorgs on top of layoffs and secrecy. alot was put on to us to adjust to while bad things swirl around us and having to take on more work.

i really regret not understanding the bigger picture and getting out of here last yr. i liked my coworkers too much. i put blinders on. and now the job market is flooded and it’s very scary esp since we get little severance

i know it’s dramatic to say but i feel very abused

the crazy thing is that my dept went through a giant re-org. a year spent on aligning people and adopting new ways of working and we actually got a new VP and we were focusing on clients and new things and what the he-l was all that reorg stress for? Why hire new leaders just to mislead them too? There’s no way this GCC stuff wasn’t know for a long time, you can’t suddenly make a move like this. what a wasted year in particular, dealing with a reorg half the dept hated. what an exercise in pointlessness.

Just reflecting back, too late, I’m afraid: Nielsen has been a truly global community (even if, perhaps, we didn’t all realize and appreciate it enough) and now, for all intents and purposes, it’s morphing into a ‘GCC model’ where few, if any, current employees are appreciated or spared…. Maybe just speaking for myself, but Shame that it took this long to realize how we were all on the same Flagship that is now sinking….We were all in this together all along…😢

I’m from Europe and wondering how are they going to offshore jobs that are not English speaking. It doesn’t make sense. I’m sorry for all that is happening to our coleagues. We are also waiting. I think this is the beginning of the end for Nielsen. I just want my severance and out the door.

This is just the beginning. The entire Nielsen is moving to India, Poland, and Mexico. Even Karshit said it takes time.

In europe they have to deal with works council and a lot of laws. So mostly we are the last one to inform. I think of end of february we will get our notice.

it was also communicated at the town hall that this will take time to roll work out of the US & most of Europe so basically anyone still standing is on borrowed time. it’s not over.
