Perhaps this has something to do with the reduction in severance...
"But by no longer being able to require that an employee stay quiet about the terms and conditions of their job or what’s in their severance agreement, the amount of protection an employer can buy is reduced. So employers may want to pay less for it, Hyman suggested.
There’s a real risk to employees that the case will have a negative impact on the size of severance packages going forward,” he said."

"The people who have secure jobs within Nielsen have no idea how this is impacting employees who will soon be laid off. "
Those people need a reality check. NOBODY has a secure job right now. Doesn't matter who you are.
Eventually they will. It's always good to be laid off in the first wave
Just adding more stress to the staff that remains. Employee health should be a concern.
The people who have secure jobs within Nielsen have no idea how this is impacting employees who will soon be laid off. Please do not act likes it’s BAU, people are under tremendous pressure and what may seem like and easy simple request could be what breaks them.
ARE PEOPLE STILL GETTING BONUSES
So because I've been here 19 years and 8 months, I'll get 19 weeks. I'll have my 20 in in a few months. That really su-ks....but I'm not surprised.
They are capping severance at 6 months from what I hear.
Did those who got laid off get their annual bonuses? Is anyone even get their bonus?
i don’t know if it’s across the board or just specific departments, but folks who were let go today have confirmed they only received 1 week per year.
Curious what the source is that says it’s reduced to 1/week per year for employees under 200k??
this doesn’t seem like small batches tho, it’s a federal law. idk
Staggering a bunch of small layoffs (instead of a big one all at once) can help a company get around a WARN notice.
I genuinely don’t understand how this isn’t violating the WARN act. we need legal help.
I have never heard of a company doing less than 2 weeks a year, unless they are about to close their doors. This speaks louder to me than any other action from the past several years.
re: s there a cap on number of years they are paying out??
26 weeks if under 200k 52 weeks if over.
Is there a cap on number of years they are paying out??
I hope this is incorrect. There’s a lot of Gracenote employees, myself included with 20+ years here.
confirmed reduced to 1 week/year if you make under 200,000
can more people confirm this is across the board?? did anything else change??
