The vacation payout is more than likely to oldheads who wont be furloughed. Allowing junior employee to keep a job. If you can retire i'd take the payout. Let the lower guys keep a job hopefully.

Don’t take that vacation payout….if you can’t get your pension RIGHT AWAY you are better off making them lay you off and then collect unemployment until you could start your pension …. Think about it
The vacation is worth a maximum of $8000 BEFORE they tax it
10 months of unemployment is worth $16000
If you RESIGN for that vacation payout you CAN NOT collect unemployment
So basically if you can collect your pension within say the next 3 months then take the vacation payout
As if wearing a suit and being all neat inspires trust. I usually expect to be presented with the latest bull–it that somehow I will pay for.
No next right now. Atlest for mechanical is if youre retiring this year and working your 100 days for next year vacation. They will pay it early. If you retire second week of Feb.
I personally can’t take anyone serious who wears a neck tie.
