Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Retiring...

...and couldn't be happier.

When in doubt, punt.

Done and dusted.

May you also escape from the swill.

When the going gets tough [pointless], quit!

FTFY.

I left Cisco for a better job where I could use more than 1% of my skills, grow new skills and save my new company a fortune by getting things to work right the first time, on time and on budget, over and over and over again. If you think Cisco is tough where programs scheduled for months take years, try working where you actually have to deliver in months.

Worldwide Cisco has destroyed an unimaginable amount of ability and I'd be surprised if even one in a hundred of you could even speak to the order of magnitude of how much money this has cost Cisco over 40 years. This isn't to say there aren't pockets of applied and growing talent, but at the scale of the major routing and switching operating systems the failure vastly outweighs the success. Cisco would have been toast in a lower margin market.
