The latest UPS be 12000 plan layoffs is a direct reflection of the latest UPS contract with the Teamsters Union. UPS has to cut managerial jobs because of the contract and lower volume. UPS has lost there lower management confidence by keep offering non operations management employees buyouts and not operations management. Some management operations management employees would like a buyout offer. UPS really hopes these employees will quit or UPS will just fire them operations management employees. UPS does not care about operations management employees. If I was UPS I would have made the latest buyout offer to older operations management employees and move non operations management employees to operations management. Many of them would we quit anyway

Management is not union and has no union protection. Is therefore expendable.
