Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

Potential buyout?

Last time BH restructured on this scale, it was an alignment for a potential buyer. Any thoughts on this?

If they were keeping the technical people, I would agree. Not the case here, more like a spin off to claim they are a green company.

Maria takes OFS and gets to be CEO of the new company and OFE goes with the current board. Both groups fail in under 3 years and than someone collects the prices and starts over……only one that loses is the workers as is the norm with GE management and failed leadership. Good luck everyone.

They will always deny that they are preparing for a buy out but when it will happen they will act as if everyone agrees that this was the right thing to do. Like this re-org and every re-org before it. It's always so obvious that you are left wondering: why haven't we done it before then? Transformation is the answer to that so can we deny any responsibility for previous cockups

Buyout would make sense, been hiring people in Charleton Rd that there’s no work for. The same thing happened at Brent Ave site, it was like they had a shopping list for what the buyers wanted. Everyone has had that feeling that something was going on behind the scenes for some time now. Looks like it’s coming.

Possibly a hedge fund, certainty not a mutual fund, and definitely not an established OSP. So lots of divestments and selloffs/carve ups, till only the nameplate remains and it becomes the oilfield version of woolworths, conjuring nostalgia and derision in equal measure.

Another rebranding please, we like them so much! Ah and please call again the same tight shirts that designed the mobius, they came up with a fantastic symbol last time around! Bit of a legal trouble but who cares, we can lay off a few hundreds to pay the lawyers if it comes to that this time as well

This time it won't be G.E returning to the trough for a second feeding.

They've gotten a lot smarter ever since unloading all their former leaders to the companies that they have sold off, like BH.

Sounds about right, another name change should fix any issues.
