Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

There are two types of Xerox employees

Those who are looking for a new job and can't wait to get out of here.
Those who are close to retirement and are just riding it out until they can get out of here.

If there is a group that likes working here and is not looking for a way out...well, I don't know anybody who belongs to it.

Two types of x lovers: ones who own the stock / those not good enough to work anywhere else.
Xerox’s existence is insulting to a free market economy. If every company in the US was like Xerox you think that’d be a good thing? No innovation. No revenue & profit growth, No purpose. The sooner it goes ch.11 the better before it infects the rest of the herd.

There are two types of Xerox employees: those who don’t drink the kool aid and those who chug it from the pitcher.

It’s great at xerox; as long you remember to treat customers like livestock you’ll be fine. I mean hey, Xerox’s revenues have been circling the bowl for years, with no line of sight on relevancy but every company has problems.

Love it here too. Every company I’m sure has issues. Seen past coworkers leave thinking grass is greener and most are miserable with their new company. Probably too late to hire them back with layoffs occurring. Depends what you do for Xerox.

In general I enjoy it and am pretty far from retirement. Decent autonomy, good teams, good peers, very flexible PTO, I like the work, 100% remote, opportunity to learn more, and probably better comp than I could get anywhere else in my area. The constant grind of cost reduction and groundhog-day "reinvention" projects get old sometimes, but I otherwise I have no good reason to leave.

Ask me again after the 15%.

There’s still a few dark corners in xerox where useless ingratiators can run out the clock in comfortable mediocrity.

Me too, I like it, if I didn't I would not stay - we all have choices unless you are a real looser. I have worked at different places - Xerox people are for the most part top notch (our problem is the cooks at the top). Don't beef on Xerox employees - they are good, smart and resourceful.

I like working there, I am a field tech. I like it because no one is looking over my shoulder, go to different places daily, and decent benefits. My only worry is the copy machine business is a dieing industry. So many companies are going paperless now.

I do. Lots of flexibility, 6 weeks paid vacation. I’m in my mid 40s.
