Where is the progress? Still people clocking hours and collecting pay checks. Most relaxed job, you don't need to perform at all.

If Schwab really want migrate, move all Old employee out of project. bring new employee in the project who handle legacy

Now add new employee to project which doing migration.
Things will done well .

because BOTH legacy and New system employee are in same boat, they do not know
anything, they will help each other.
Other wise we ready for mess

Worked in 3 major bank, on migration of different technologies, which include MF.
One pattern I have seen everywhere which is missing in Schwab.
Alexandra or Communist Method, to build new you have to clean the Old Guard.
Old Guard will never allow the take over , even if they corporate they will pull the march backward, at given opportunity.
Old Guard should not allowed to remain in place if any migration need to succeed otherwise be ready for failure and waste of MONEY and RESOURCE.

I have never understand why Mainframe people are allowed to even touch the Java or cloud?

There vested interested in failure of Migration , so they can have relaxed job.

Mainframe all FTE in General and Contractor in particular, they will never want MF to go away,
because they like SALLY the door/book keeper who knows which file is kept where if computer comes she will loose her importance.
Identify the SALLY and handle it in right way.

Don't we have hundreds of hours of governance per project? Reams of documentation no one uses? Years to plan for public cloud that's reworked over and over until we hire a new SVP to do it again? A decade of cloud deployment and expanding data centers. Decades of getting rid of the mainframe?

Progress? Still Terrible Sh--e.

Progress is measured by a normal person as production to revenue and cost savings. Most business programs teach that in the first 15 weeks. We measure it by how many bullying officers can delude themselves and others while we move the deadline and blame the Fed.
