What's stopping the field from unionizing like some of the markets already are? Is it fear? Is it a genuine disinterest in the whole situation? I want to understand why people can't pool together for a greater common good.

Do you really think management has any kind of playbook right now? They are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. They seriously do not have clue and are in the dark as well. That’s where they should start. Some MR mgrs should have been long gone
Want to make it difficult for the MBAs? Create social media profiles. Respond to every Nielsen linkedin post, job ad, twitter, etc,,,,reminding them how they treat people. Make it hard to hire your replacement.
This could all be incorrect, but just thought I’d share as this info was given to me by an employee who has seen a lot in their many years at Nielsen. Unions don’t always mean a positive outcome for reps, again this is hearsay from what was told to me… reps in the past have had to return their company vehicles to a vehicle depot of sorts, and could not use their company vehicle for any sort of personal usage. This causes for an earlier start time for reps as well as end time to the day due to having to drive and pick up/drop off their company vehicles every day.
Not sure where you’re getting your info, but there are no markets where the FRs successfully unionized. New York failed, Boston failed, and Pittsburgh just withdrew. This is all public info in the NRLB site. Don’t think for a second that leadership doesn’t have a backup plan in the event a union is successful, they have playbooks ready for this. Even managers get training on what to do/say if a FR team wants to unionize.
