Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

They are just looking for people quit or get fired for breaking RTO policies

Schwab has turned into the ge----o. My direct report got fired today for staying home and working while she had COVID. They told her she had to apply for leave instead of working remotely while she was contagious. We bent over backwards to help the firm and work remotely to turn our homes upside down and we kept going and kept succeeding. For the better of our customers and the company. Now they have turned this place into a babysitting service and treat us like children. They have no shame or conscious.

Good luck to you all I've had enough of this place. Maybe better leadership will emerge after this bloodsucking pigs are gone.

I agree with @krq+1qKq4SXz, something is missing here because, quite frankly, it’s not that easy to get fired.

I don’t buy it… what are you leaving out? Legal and HR wouldn’t proceed as stated, it’s a massive lawsuit that could turn class action… I smell BS!

They better have their ducks in a row with regards to sick time. If you are sick - why are you required to work - your sick. However, they may ask for results from a COVID test to insure everyone is being honest - because .... people weren't honest with the policy before and that is why they are so heavy handed now.

We have multiple people working remote due to being sick. Our Sr Leaders have made it clear for us to be flexible. Employees just can’t call in sick every Monday.

I’m outraged if that occurred and is the entire story.

Someone who took sick time or worked while infectious has a fantastic labor law case, even in the openly hostile state of Texas (AZ and NC too). Many haven’t gone in at all yet and nothing has been said.

Wow! that seems drastic! I would have her check with HR, to make sure she was informed of this new process! You can't follow a process if you don't know what it is.. They might have a good fight here! Does not seem right!
