There seem to be many things brewing in the background at GF. SVPs being stripped of duties in tech dev area. Senior directors losing their roles in IP dev area. Things like this typically happen when someone new is coming to take over, cleaning house with the old and bringing in his/her new. This stuff signals soon there will be a transition to a new CEO, rumor is Anderskouv will be replacing Caulfield in the coming months. Thoughts on this transition? Is this enough to stop the GF sinking ship? What more would you change?

A major shakeup? Isn’t it a shakeup /shakedown enough to work day in and day out with largely spineless management, that essentially work purely for their own financial reward, their higher ups words, and HR who sit high up in their nests at home safely deciding what should happen - away from “dramatic” employees who dare rock the boat of consistent incompetence? If you’re still an employee, you’re aboard the SS Titanic. They hit icebergs daily but no one will ever care to know bc HR is too far removed to ever know anything /have any true realistic concern about the ppl who carry all the weight and show up to deal with actually making products. Good luck to all of you still on board. I hope you have life vests.
It’s too bad hourly employees wont unionize across the US semiconductor industry. There’s not enough organization among them to do so- so there’s a real lack of indication to leadership that low retention when your employees aren’t simply making coffee- is a major problem. If SC companies like GF don't learn to compensate employees for their dedication, they’ll continue to drain their own coffers from the inside out. Internal bleeding.
I’m glad I left. I can’t imagine still working at such a group-think led organization.
Good luck to you all.
Hey Tommy boy, have some shame! Instead of downvoting the long suffering employees comments here , go clear the total mess you created for the company , you overpaid incompetent mid-et!
Are you saying I am a clown? Why bother? You are weird for even taking the time and effort to post that. The real clown

Which group?
I know of one totally incompetent snr director who got finally kicked out by her recently hired manager much to the pleasure and relief of her long suffering team. Bloody good riddance as they say!!!
Agreed. It’s not just SLT but the rot goes down to the directors and mangers themselves. They foster and nourish this toxic environment and behaviors. They encourage it and take advantage of it. They toe the company line of lies. And when their lies and misdeeds finally catch up to them the teams just get split up and reorg and they get shuffled around to new areas. And cycle continues until next build up of rot and onto next reshuffle. Look at Malta in last 1-2 years. Notice how many directors moved around. He-l some of them have moved around so much and have been directors of so many different areas and fields they should be good damn fellow level experts. But of course they are not. There have been directors of si photonics then they are packaging then they are something else. They will continue to be mediocre at best and achieve absolutely nothing and sow more rot and self serving toxic activities until next reorg on the backs of their subordinates.
Honestly, it doesn't matter who steps intio to lead. Gf culture is embedded deep. Toxic environment with the bottom of the barrel industry workers. The next CEO will use GF as a personal ATM machine much like TC has. If you're still working their, make a change for yourself. Leave
It feels like it has never been stable here. Every year there is something chaotic or pivotal and we never get it right.
The problem is deeper than just the CEO at GF. There needs to be a mindset at the senior leadership level that in order to fix gross margins it doesn't mean cutting costs and outsourcing labor, you lose your differentiation and leadership in industry that way. Instead, you need to make industry leading differentiated technologies which are first to market so you can charge more and then for same costs bring in higher revenue so your gross margins are better. GF having 25-30% gross margins vs. UMC/TSMC up in the 40-50% gross margins this will cause GF to fall further behind each year. So gross margins need to be fixed but not through slashing cost but through differentiation and technology leadership.
