Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Something has to give!

Employees overworked and unhappy, Senior leadership out of touch. I used to be proud to tell people I worked for Schwab, but now the last two times I’ve met people on vacation, they rant about how terrible the website and service are and how they are pulling all their money out. This company used to be collaborative and value employee input. Makes no sense that RTO was such a top down all encompassing directive, more discretion should have been provided to PLs so different teams could decide what worked best for them in the day to day.

Hearing this feedback from employees makes me want to pull my investments. I don’t feel very secure here. Idk.

It's impossible to get work done at Schwab. Not only is the moral down and people overworked and overwhelmed, it's become a toxic workplace that's overly micromanaged. There are so many groups that have simply given up

my advice, get your doctor to sign off on taking fmla / leave, we get it every year, not sure why people dont take advantage of it every year, more folks should invest in their health

This place is falling apart…EC is burning the furniture and trying to cash in their stock and options before the whole thing collapses. Then they will pass the ticking time bo-b to Rick or some other lackey/patsy and then pull cords on their golden parachutes off this sinking ship.

I worry about Schwabs infrastructure and engineering teams. We are all running bare bones and being asked to do more work than ever. So many people I know have just given up. It's getting more and more difficult to not just get work don't but just to keep the lights on.

I am in the same boat. I’m really sick of this company making taking a dump require forty people to review. The pay is competitive but not THAT competitive. I’m hoping it gets better but leadership here doesn’t inspire confidence. I don’t know why great companies like these have to ruin a good thing and make life difficult for everyone.

I agree. I will leave as soon as I land a new role. Schwab is like a dystopian wasteland. (Lol, that is a strong statement but you get the idea). Working around depressed, unhappy people makes me depressed and unhappy.

I agree morale is down in the dumps and I really have no loyalty to this company anymore
