I get the need for cuts, but they really don't seem to care about who goes and who stays. I guess we are all just replaceable cronies. It's starting feel like an abusive relationship where they beat you while telling you it's because they love you so much. Time to get out!

I no longer believe Schwab is a safe place to work for the mental well-being of employees. I came to this company naive and wanting to pitch ideas and solve problems. At first, it seemed like I got to do that, and I actually still do. However, workloads have doubled with little to no support and lack of communication from upper management. When you ask for help… good luck getting any. People leaders are overwhelmed and do not get support, therefore it is difficult for them to support you. Despite being with the company for a shorter period of time and pitching ideas that have made big differences, I have lost hope that my job is safe. Working my a-s off won’t be job security. Sacrificing time with my family and spending over 2 hours in traffic every day I drive to the office does not show enough dedication for job security. I do not know what else to do to prove that I deserve to be there. It seems like job security no longer exists at Charles Schwab (outside of upper management).
My new motto. Fck. ch*ck. Got my severance. Took the money and will never look back. Good riddance to bad baggage. The end.
Did Schwab ever care? At least before we joined Schwab, there was a feeling that the company and leaders cared about us. People first. Schwab cares more about clients at the expense of the people who support the clients.
They've convinced themselves that money gets money, automation satiates the masses and outsourcing can handle the systems. All that plus toxic bullies who use that to obscure incompetence and malice results in our Stepford home.
One person let go a couple years ago had generated millions for the company and saved millions more. Just them. Even if you argue they needed others and should only get partial credit for the results, they covered their salary and compensation tenfold. Easily. Let go. What public company dismisses a person with 10x ROI?
I was not aware until I was recently laid off what a toxic and abusive relationship I was in with Schwab. They treat employees as second class citizens, managers and Directors are treated no better. It’s a sweat shop being run by elites who have no idea how much energy and effort employees put forth to provide great service to the clients. Many of the laid off employees were so dedicated to the company that we could not see the abuse that was dealt. In the long run, the impacted employees will be in a much better situation and will be respected for the talent they bring.
You are not replaceable. You bring something unique to the company. You are that talented amongst your peers. Start your own Schwab up and show them you dynamo :)
