How far does employee monitoring go?

(Allegedly) TIAA actively monitors written communications (email, messaging) and social media accounts. For the NCC they monitor all calls through audio recording and screen capture, as well as call telemetry. Passively, TIAA collects all sorts of things like location, computer and network telemetry, etc..

What else is the company monitoring?

Allegedly there is internal testing of Teramind, “Big Brother” software that can secretly monitor everything employees do, from keystroke logging to screen capture. It can also do things like activate the webcam and take desktop control without the user ever knowing.

lol, I noticed that too. I actually noticed this few months ago. The positive reviews are all from India. I thought tiaa India had their own ceo? Maybe the reviews are referring to the TIAA India ceo? lol

Yeah there’s some real shady stuff going on with Glassdoor reviews. I sorted by “New” and noticed a wave of 5 star reviews with minimal wording all made within a day or two of each other. Many of them from Pune, too. T and her minions are working hard to protect her online reputation. Pathetic.

Former TIAA Marketing employee. Former due to Micky and her shenanigans: If the company is monitoring employees at this level it’s not surprising. Keep in mind T came from JP and JP overly monitors employees in the same ways.

Read Glassdoor? Heck 80% of the posts on there are from some nobs in HR posting at the behest of leadership. It's so obvious. The 4 or five star review with nothing of any substance in the "PRO" comments. may two words like "Great benefits". Under "CON" comments they say "No "cons" at this time" or "Very large company, sometimes slow to change"//........ yeah right. That's a real honest review. No games from HR, there, no. Hahahaha. Anyone ever noticed how whenever there's a real, honest scorcher review, there are immediately 12 "Everything is great! reviews that appear in the next day or two right after it so the authentic negative review drops a page? I think I heard that's a felony these days to put up fake shill reviews of your company. Is it?

Based on the leadership left there these days, they are 100% up in your business every day all the time in any way possible, likely searching your profile on linkedin, glassdoor and every social media site available. What else are these redundant desperate hr hitt people they started embedding into every part of the business going to do to make themselves relevant. Nobody stateside is going to respect an employer who shows no respect for their employees. TIAA will have no choice but to outsource to countries where big brother and cr-ppy pay is the norm.

Any sane, mentally functioning and in the very least cognitively inclined individual, should know to always keep a piece of duct tape (h e l l, even a sticky note will do) over your webcam, especially on your WFH days.

Unless of course you want them to catch a gander of you in your skivvies, tighty-whiteys and/or bloomers as you chug your cup of Morning Joe ☕. Or perhaps some of you may actually want that and get off on that sort of thing.

And while you're at it, cover up those microphones too. They don't need to hear you and your significant other taking full advantage of your "lunch break" if you know what I mean 😉

Exactly!!! Reorg to appease the WMA because they threw a hissy fit over their comp and being part of relationship management.

Yes they are watching keystrokes, monitoring emails, seeing when you redo your VPN, keep your little camera window closed so they don’t just spy on you.

Don’t use the company issued iPad if you have or phone.

As I have said before this is no longer a well respected thought leader and financial institution. This leadership team gets their kicks by aggressive people and process management. Spending all day every day writing useless summary of this summary of that because an overpaid under qualified leader might ask for it. This is what we have become. 5 more weeks and peace out. Maybe the wealth advisors can take over institutional mgmt they literally wouldn’t last 5 minutes.
