Thread regarding Suncor Energy Inc. layoffs

Life After Kruger

Here is a question for my fellow former Suncor employees. Once Freddie is gone, would you consider taking a job at Suncor?

Whether you like it or not, that’s how the “corporation” structure works in any company. The board makes the decision on behalf of a corporation, the president executes it, then the board reports back to the shareholders.

Absolutely, it’s not just Freddy calling the shots - it’s the whole board, and it’s deeply ingrained in Suncor’s culture. Changing the leadership culture is a big task because it’s been this way for a while, and everyone is accustomed to it. Transforming it will require significant time and meaningful changes because it’s not a quick or easy process.

LOL. Nevertheless, Puppet he is.

Ya, Freddy is just a CEO who gets brought in to do the bidding of the board. They do it cause they can, and it’s only just the beginning. Those who have been already laid off got it easy…

You got that right, Freddy is a dancing puppet. This mess that happened is from Elliot activist investors. They hired Freddy as their puppet.

Freddy is just playing his role like any actor on stage. He’s just a dancing puppet

Oh he did lay offs at Imperial too?

So play the lay-off card, play the re-organizational card. Play the focus on Oil Assets and refining only card and cut as much as possible to make Suncor a “value” stock. Its P/E was always so low compared to its peers. What are these mass layoffs going to do, change the P/E from a 6.85 down to a 6.5? Investors still don’t bite it as a value stock because Kruger is damaging the reputation even more. He’s proud to lay people off and sleeps well at night considering how many Albertans careers he’s ruined. He’s happy and smiles to damage Fort Mac’s economy which is a critical community for Suncor. It’s all in the “winning game plan”. Think that’s all the cards he’s got in his deck. What other cards does he have in his deck? He can play the retirement card next. I can see how he knows all about winning because if he wins or loses it’s still all a win-win for him.

I’m gone from Syncrude! Or should I say Suncrude, or Syncor. Oh wait it’s Syncrude operated by Suncor. Syncrude just kept going downhill more and more ever since Suncor took over of course it’s hit the lowest of lows since Kruger took the CEO position. I’m also now gone from Fort Mac. Won’t ever come back.

Same favouritism was at play during the layoffs he orchestrated at Imperial too.

Suncor had lost its reputation. Everyone working there should take some responsibility for whats happening with the company.

First, no I am enjoying retirement and second, from those left behind I hear that a lot of favouritism was involved in the layoffs so I would not want to join what is fast becoming the McDonald’s of the O&G world.
