Vision is useless if there are no growth programs supporting the company. Just look at the NPI pipeline

science to reimagine what’s possible". Does anyone know if we are still saying this?
Is it just me or is the bigger bolder 3M vision just more buzz words strung together to sound smart or different. I don’t understand what any of it means. Don’t we already use 3M science? I’m surprised it didn’t also say they were all “excited “and throw in the word “innovation” and “world class”. More lofty words without substance doesn’t make a bit of difference. Actions speak louder than words.

LOL. Keep swinging Mike. You'll eventually find the magic 2-3 words to make us successful. Vision is about finding the "open sesame" phrase.
"Purpose Driven" didn't work.
"Advance 3M" was the largest human capital design and investment in 3M and its biggest failure.
What was "3M Forward"? Is that still active?

Roman is truly thick skinned. Really must admire his guts to be able to put up visions after visions, despite it not working each time.
Is it just me, or is this like the 4th operational model / vision announced in the last 5 years? Just throwing cr-p at the wall every 12 months and hoping something sticks?
Nobody seems to trust any of the executives when they talk. Everyone is just acting at below levels. Nobody will point out the Emperors clothes when he is in fact na--d.
Two concerns: (1) Does anyone trust MR to put together any kind of vision or strategy or anything else at this point? For 5 years now, he's proven that he's got the reverse Midas Touch; and (2) I thought MR's note said something about holding others accountable to this for the next two years. If he's suggesting that he has another two years, then the future is way gloomier than I thought, and that's saying something.

I'm so confused. If the operational model and control moves from the BG's back to each country, my guess each each country will circumvent (where possibly) any "corporate" tools and processes and each country will resource their own tech team to support - which means real time support; which possibly indicates reverting back to legacy systems. Got to do what works and makes money. Say "good bye" to the consultants that got us into this mess....calling Ernie Parks.

I am motivated to think that perhaps they saved some money by having lower end consultants use AI to generate that garbage rather than paying the consultants that have AI generate it, then use an actual human to clean it up so it didn't sound ridiculous. Winning!!
That has to be one of the most generic vision statements I have ever seen. The strategies, accelerators, and leadership expectations could be used by almost any company willing to accept the AI generated verbiage for a corporate vision. The only 3M specific text is the reference to 3M science. This is supposed to engage us? You must be kidding!!
Timing is a little suspicious with earnings call on Tuesday and a strategy with no substance. He has to have something ready when shareholders ask “how will you ever improve and grow dividends, after this cut” how can we be confident when or if ever investing with 3M ????

New vision my left nut. If we are so focused on the customer why are not actively listening to them and letting our sales teams make contact or travel? This latest email and announcement is all window dressing with little to no substance. Tireman ki-led and shelved many active new products in works by gutting teams last year, thanks but no thanks coffee man another wee tu-d. Mike bet big on Automotive electrification after ki-ling it in the past and it is a total and utter cow tu-d! The cars are far too expensive for average consumers, infrastructure to support is severely lacking and far behind tge 8 ball, and loans are getting way to expensive, worldwide with all the repos happening the last 6 months. Car comapny's have more stock then they can sell, and 3M is chasing sales that are withering with them. By the way where are all the cost savings from SAP almost 15 years ago that were promised and all the waste on that circus and old software. Systems are just as complicated, infastructure still old, and consultant spending, waste, cluster F, as ever. More revenue more wasteful spending on consultant cr-p. That and You want some focus, stop the damn consultant waste. Meet 3M same as the old 3M which seems to be coming back, with more yes, let me kiss the a$$ of the Emporer so called leaders. Until there is a change in palace culture, and this narcissistic court Jestor, clown and tyrant wrapped up in the same birthday packaging and tape and bow, is booted nothing will change. It’s always been that way at 3M. ‘Going back to the old way’ never sells a program. You have to push it as being ‘all new’.

I have some reservations. The new program is "Retrogression 3M". Different business systems will be installed in each country. The operational model and control will move from business group to each country.
A lot of people are saying this is the old 3M. Mike Roman insists that no, this is the "New 3M". This is launching us into the future. We are putting business decisions closer to the end customer. Brilliant.
