Does OPEX cut mean red badge?
I know reds are financed from a different budget.

Yes and no. Contingent workers (red badges) are an OPEX expense, but not considered as "head count" because they're not employees. Typically contingent workers are let go during, or just before, the last week of the quarter as their SOW's are renewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Most red badge cuts will happen by the end of Jan as the quarter ends, not in the middle of Feb just a couple of weeks into the next quarter.

To the guy/girl/other saying tac is always safe. Keep dreaming. Buffy the tac slayer has a history of outsourcing at oracle. And we know our leadership always does copy paste from previous companies . Because this is called “innovation”

Feb 14th may be a day of tough love, a best day for many in Cisco.

Why is the layoff notice not yet on the WARN website ? Is it going to be after the Q2 results ?

As usual, only Sales will be cut in US. No other region will be affected.

TAC will always never ever be laid off. TAC and CX centers worldwide are always safe !

Vote if you think CX should be on this list and small, medium or large amount. Trim some of those useless Customer Success X roles.

My vote:
Yes to CX. Large amount to reduce the layers, overlapping function and the valueless roles.

As long the useless excel expert SE directors and managers fattening themselves doing nothing are gone. That by default should improve OPEX and employee efficiency . Start with the UKI theatre. It’s been a nightmare since 2019. It’s unbelievable how incompetent these people are and how, despite that, they manage to not only stay in the company but get promoted! Boggles the mind.

This is now being officially communicated in team meetings. A very large opex cut is coming. You can translate what this means.

I think it will be disproportionately high on sales side
