Merry Christmas to everyone, current and former employees. That is except to Therace and her band of thieves. Hope you get coal in your stocking this year
Yes.
Are engineers the lowest paid job classification at AEP?
The rabid cannibals of crony capitalism are in a feeding frenzy. Eventually there will only be one left and he will be sitting in a corner gnawing on his own ankle. Bon appét-t!
They are extending the deadline for "spans and layers" flattening until end of Q1 so if you haven't been demoted yet don't worry there's still time! Now that they've shifted everything onto the oppcos anyone want to guess which one gets sold off first to boost short term gains and get Carl and friends their big win?
Merry Christmas to everyone. Remember we are AEP because we built this company with our talent, our determination, our sacrifice and our devotion to our customers and coworkers. Good health, good fortune and the hope of a brighter future in the New Year. We are the heart and soul of AEP and no one can take that from us. Our strength is the bond we share forged in hardship and adversity that gives us the strength and resolve to succeed.
Why do CEOs feel no shame?
AEP is the sum of its thousands of dedicated, hard working and caring employees, not its callous and greedy major shareholders and revolving door CEOs, who swoop in, su-k up huge compensation packages and move on to the next mark.
Surprised we don’t hear more about the disaster over in Energy Delivery more often here.
Also the Saturday update was just a business update. Nothing shocking or new shared.
The concept of a "new gilded age" refers to a current period of significant wealth inequality where a small elite accumulates vast wealth, often at the expense of the working and middle classes, essentially meaning that while the economy may appear prosperous on the surface, the majority of people are not sharing in that prosperity and are often struggling to maintain their standard of living, effectively "paying for" the wealth of the elite through their lower wages and reduced purchasing power; this is considered a parallel to the historical Gilded Age in the late 19th century where similar economic disparities existed.
Amazing when people in leadership roles are doing well they project their perception of reality on others. Don't threaten or challenge the broken culture I have invested so much time su-king up in and now benefit from and enjoy at everyone else's expense.
So does anyone have an update from the meeting this morning?
Company boards are the main issue, members are brought on by current members so any continuous corruption will start with the board. They hire the CEO and for the most part all of the EVPs . The only way to get a new CITO will be for Bill to go to the Board and convince them Therace needs to go and that goes for any of the other EVPs. The Board wanted the outsourcing to save money but they based that decision on the lies Therace sold them on. All changes are going to start with the Board and they only people that have any pull are the big 3-4 investment firms. I have no hope that things will get better under Bill. I'm waiting for a number of retirements from the Board before thinking there will be change. For now, do your job, collect your paycheck and bonus and hope for the best. Or, leave, retire, get a different job in AEP and wait it out. For me, I'm waiting it out, GL to everyone and have a Merry Christmas.
Can the guy writing his personal version of the communist manifesto in here get a job or something?
Most of your posts have nothing to do with AEP specifically, just vague whining about the concept of shareholders at large.
I come here to read updates about AEP, not the schizophrenic ramblings of some deranged leftist. Do you even work here?
Recent events have demonstrated CEOs have made enemies of the people they employee and serve. CEOs chose to be our enemies and they pretend to be shocked that the American people are disgusted with their new Gilded Age. CEOs have created a culture that rewards them for mistreating and stealing from their employees and customers. The more they mistreat and steal from their employees and customers, the greater the compensation packages awarded to them by major shareholders. CEOs would have us believe, we as employees are doing well when the company is doing well even though only CEOs and major shareholders prosper.
It is time to end the reign of spoiled rich kids, who grew old but never grew up. No company can survive without its employees and customers. Every company, its employees and customers can thrive without CEOs and major shareholders. When CEOs deliberately and determinedly prey upon their employees and customers with the same callous indifference untreated cancer demonstrates to its human hosts, CEOs make their own enemies and when those enemies turn on CEOs like a pack of rabid wolves, you get what you have coming to you. Only CEOs can change what is wrong with the corporate culture and remain. If employees and customers are forced to change what is wrong to survive and thrive, CEOs and major shareholders are no more. Crimes are defined, prosecuted and punished by the many, not by the few in a just and legitimate representative government.
I'm just going to do my job, nothing more, nothing less. The company pays me for 40 hours plus overtime when needed. I plan to live up to that agreement, no more , no less. Nothing in that says I have to cover for TCS. They're supposed to be smarter and cheaper then the folks they replaced so they don't need my help. As for what goes about on Mount high, I have no clue, above my pay grade and I don't care. CEO, EVP, SVP or VP, I have no sway with them and the only thing they can do to me is fire me. No big deal, I'll just get another job somewhere else. For now, the pay is better, job su-ks, TCS su-ks, CITO su-ks but I still get my paycheck like the rest of you. I don't care what happens to the company, I really don't, the company stopped caring about me a long time ago, I'm just making up for lost time.
AEP's money comes from the communities they serve. Their customers, you and I. The biggest thing wrong at AEP is that it used to be a company that could chsnge snd enrich lives. Those leaders thst understood that concept left on their own. All others leaders thst stayed dont have those principles or leadership skills in them. It is all about them.
Saturday meeting at 9am for a routine update and taking attendance. What’s the consequence for not joining? Could a video not have been made and then posted on AEPNow? Unreal
Stealing the accomplishments of employees, who have spent decades building the AEP we have today and giving it to freeloader major investors, who have done absolutely nothing but lend the company money they have stolen from other workers is enough to make any honest man or woman angry. It is time to get rid of confidence men, who can only be successful when they are allowed to steal what they are not capable of creating and earning for themselves. A thief is a thief regardless of what title he holds.
I feel like I am fairly compensated for what I do.
Not sure where all this resentment and anger is coming from.
Taylor Swift gave her employees $197,000,000 in bonuses at the end of her Eros Tour. William Fehrman gives you more responsibilities and a attaboy. I think we should all go work for Taylor Swift and move up to a 1st world employer instead of a 3rd world crony corporate cult.
why would the ceo be meeting on a Saturday with managers and above? does it have anything to do with the stock market already being closed on Friday? the board just met the other day. M&A?
The future is uncertain and uncertainty breeds opportunity, now who shall seize it?
All company managers directors and other leaders are meeting at 9am Saturday morning. Topics include:
2024 Successes
2025 Opportunities
Update on Financial Performance/ICP
Q&A
It is not the exquisite gilding of the vessel that gives it value. It is the virtuous soul within that is priceless. AEP values gaudy and tawdry empty vessels and pays a premium price for something that has no intrinsic value. That is why they focus solely on the major shareholders and corporate officers. Useless in a crisis, worthless in a time of arduous endeavors and fearful of their own shadows. I guess that is why the are locked away to add to the illusion of immense value so someone will foolishly believe they are worth more than the employees of AEP.
Yes, boss that is a great idea. Deny employees raises and significant bonuses to cut costs. You want me to talk up austerity, I well be glad to do so. Oh, you could see your way to promoting me in the future. I will glad to be your obedient lackey and report on anyone making trouble for you. I am willing to trade my dignity, principles and co-workers for a little piece of the thievery.
The only difference between capitalism and communism is the names of the tyrants, who profit from them. Tyrants always impugn the integrity of people fighting for justice. They also fraudulently define the goals of the movements that seek to depose them. Collaborators, who would clamp the shackles about the wrists and ankles of their co-workers to gain favor and status with the tyrants have always defended the tyranny they are seeking to unjustly and cowardly benefit from. I would rather die a feral man than live as servile a-s kisser.
Employees need to wake up and realize we have leverage when negotiating for better pay & benefits. The company threatens employees with contracting out departments but we are their cost leverage with the contractors. If the company contracts out departments then the contractors will have leverage for more lucrative contracts. The company's response will be competition among contractors will work in their favor. We all know you can't spell chEAP without AEP and there are not many contractors competing for bottom pay contracts. Working to exist to come to work another day is not the American dream and those un-Americans responsible for stealing our wages are starting to realize their haughty belligerence has lost its ability to intimidate us as was made glaringly apparent on the nightly news.
Even modest earnings per share growth (EPS) can create meaningful value, when it is sustained reliably from year to year. So it's easy to see why many investors focus in on EPS growth. American Electric Power Company boosted its trailing twelve month EPS from US$4.37 to US$4.96, in the last year. This amounts to a 13% gain; a figure that shareholders will be pleased to see.
One or many?
Really enjoy this page. Wish there was more information being put out but I really enjoy the rants. Makes me feel like I’m not alone in how I feel. Helps the culture better than anything the company is trying to do to grow it.
A customer summed it up succinctly when he said, "Of all the companies I do business with, yours is the only company operating like it is still the 1950s." We could succeed, if inept, incompetent, archaic and self-absorbed corporate management would get out of our way and stop raiding our operating budgets to enrich themselves and their freeloader investor buddies, who keep voting them more generous compensation packages.
I'm not sure where to start. On the one hand I want the company to do well. On the other hand, I could care less. If we do well regardless of the changes that have been made over the past 4-5 years, upper mgmt will think the changes made the difference. They didn't, it's only because of decent weather and other non-mgmt factors. They will continue down the same path with similar decisions. If we don't do well, they'll blame everyone in the trenches for not buying into the new culture. Either way, the majority of folks are going to be worse off in a year. Back to the beginning, I guess I really don't care because I'm sc--wed either way.
This company has did a complete 180 in the last 5 years. The future is not as bright as it once was and everyone can feel it. With the closers and retirement dates of plants, unjustifiable layoffs lots of people are starting to realize this is just a job and the once days of careers is over. This last survey has open the eyes of many and some are in disbelief that so many people are feed up with this antiquated management system.. The favoritism and Constant nitpicking of mundane tasks shows the old habits of a generation that’s past. The younger generations that enter this mentality will not stay and the pool again is culled and lower expectations are established and lower skilled people are employed. This nonsense has lead to a new reality at AEP a spinoff from an upside down world we once knew where good is now wrong right is now left and being a flamboyant id--t is desired over a competent employee . Why has this occurred because the old system has stomped out the new systems and the culture can’t change only seeks more of the same mindset to validate the current failing system. AEP su-ks it that simply.. We can celebrate that yet again a dinosaur is leading our company but don’t let that fool you… its different this time …as the brown paper sacks are passed and the kickbacks are being made we can all agree that AEP is being sold off to the highest bidders.. We can put all the lipstick and buttermilk we want on Ol Wilber but he’s still just a pig.. This economic hitman CIA style governance we see emerging from the depths of the bowels will show its self very soon. Take the money and run! Cash out before the bankruptcy and Drained Pension lawsuits start.. The spinoff of these assets and environmental regulations to clean up Among any catastrophic failures.. we fail to realize our eggs are in one broken basket..
Investing in physical capital without making commensurate investments in the human capital operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and upgrading the physical capital investments is unconscionable.
As an older veteran, we never thought to ask exactly whose freedom we were defending. The freeloaders, who never served, never sacrificed and never cared about anyone but themselves. Perhaps, our greatest enemy was always behind us at the butt of the shaft while we were risking it all at the tip of the spear where the metal meets the meat.
The Shame and LIES are coming to AEP corporate from Cook.
One of the biggest groups sc--wed over by this company is 911 veterans. Served our country came back to the usa. Just to give most of your adult hood working life to a bunch slimy ba----ds thst would make good leaders in communist Russia. This is for any veteran thst was lied to by leaders of this corporation. Sc--w you asswholez
Message to AEP leadership. Upon the holidays please take the time to reflect on your desicions the past couple of years. Remember if you made it to the top of the organization and the people who helped you out are not around, please ask why that is?
If you are a vilian in your employees homes, then the only thing you are a leader at is your own ego. Merry Christmas everyone
Oppressed people must choose
To band together to affect positive change
To right the wrongs of the past
Postponing the coming of Judgement Day
We the people must form the perfect union
