Thread regarding Ford layoffs

A few questions

In case I end up getting my walking papers in the never-ending wave of layoffs, do you know how soon you receive the severance pay? Also, how is medical coverage handled? Do we stay covered till the month wraps up, or do they cut us off on the day of the layoff?

Cobra is always an option. 18 months.. It is the lowest out of pocket cost option out there.

For those laid off in June 2023. You get your severance 1 months after you signed and turned in the agreement paper.

The rules are continually evolving. They will update the doc on HR prior to a layoff. Go visit the HR site and read the involuntary separation doc for how it is now.
In the past at times there was a month lag time before severance was received. Medical was suppose to continue for a designated period (based on years of service) but many found their cards rejected for weeks-month and had to spend time sorting that out.
