Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Credit Reports

Charles Schwab is pulling credit reports on employees who have not had a change in job function or reported any changes to their u4. The reason given for the pull was "new job". This is not true.

Why is Schwab pulling credit reports on current employees?

OP, looks like we missed an employee who is absolutely incompetent. We will address in the next quarter, good luck.

There are many legitimate complaints against Schwab but this is not one of them. Finance companies deal with people’s savings/livelihood, and if you are in debt or have criminal history it is well within their right to terminate you for being a risky employee.

They continuously monitor your background for arrests, convctions, lawsuits and so forth. This is a higlu regulated firm. You consented to this when you were hired and signed many numerouds agreements as part of condition for employment. Periodic credit checks is one of them.

I will sue them then. I never consented.

Of course you consented. Background checks are part of your employment agreement.

But, say you didn’t. What damages are you suing a multi-billion dollar corporation for, exactly?

“I’ll sue!” Lol.

If they are pulling credit reports they could also be pulling FULL background checks which include DUI, etc... beware - they are cleaning house!

Are the credit checks showing up on credit reports? If not, how can we know if they are doing this?

They are coming after anyone they can fire. An engineer on our team was fired last week for failing to disclose a bad auto loan and he's been with the company for ten years
